Cheese sticks are perfect for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prestigehampers.co.uk\/cheese-hampers\">between meals<\/a> or just when you are enjoying a refreshing beverage. Thanks to this easy recipe, you will never need to buy them again.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\">Ingredients:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00bd a package of frozen puff pastry (17.5 ounces)<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons of olive oil<\/li>\n<li>1 pinch of salt and black pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 pinch of cayenne pepper (or to taste)<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup of shredded cheddar cheese<\/li>\n<li>5 tablespoons of shredded Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese (divided)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"western\">Directions:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Before you start making your cheese sticks, you should preheat your oven to 200 degrees C.<\/li>\n<li>Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.<\/li>\n<li>Place the frozen pastry on a work surface to thaw out.<\/li>\n<li>Unfold the pastry onto a floured surface but do not roll it out.<\/li>\n<li>Brush olive oil on top of the pastry.<\/li>\n<li>Season with salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle some cheddar cheese and \u00bc cup of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese on top of the dough.<\/li>\n<li>Cover the dough with some plastic wrap and press the spices and cheese into the dough.<\/li>\n<li>Use a sharp knife or a pizza cutter to cut lines through the dough in the seam areas. This should yield three equal parts.<\/li>\n<li>Next cut each piece lengthwise into 9 pieces.<\/li>\n<li>Flip the strips upside down before twisting each uncooked stick 9 times. The seasoned side should be on the outside once you are done.<\/li>\n<li>Place your cheese sticks onto the baking sheet and sprinkle the rest of your cheese on top.<\/li>\n<li>Roll the sticks just enough so that they pick up the excess cheese and to give them the right shape.<\/li>\n<li>Bake the breadsticks for about 10 minutes before flipping them over and baking until they are lightly browned.<\/li>\n<li>You will know they are done if you are able to pick them up without them drooping.<\/li>\n<li>Place your sticks on a rack to cool before serving.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This cheese sticks recipe can be multiplied according to the number of sticks that you need for all your guests.
