If you are planning on sending a chocolate hamper<\/a>, you should also pay special attention to where and how you store it. Here are some easy tips to remember.<\/p>\n

Cool temperatures<\/h2>\n

It is best to store chocolate at temperatures between 12 and 20 degrees Celsius. If you have a room or area in your home that stays cool in the summer, this is the best spot. It is also worth noting that dark chocolate can be stored at slightly warmer temperatures than milk or white chocolate.<\/p>\n

Refrigerator<\/h2>\n

There are a number of reasons why chocolate storage in the fridge is not the best idea. Firstly, it could get too cold and this will affect the appearance and texture of the chocolate. You may notice that it turns whitish on the surface because it’s simply too cold and the chocolate starts to crystallize. In addition, the smells from all the other food in your fridge can affect the flavour of the chocolate.<\/p>\n

Protective packaging<\/h2>\n

If you simply have to refrigerate your chocolate, make sure that you prepare it first. You should place it in an airtight container to prevent moisture and smells from sneaking in. If you can, place the chocolate in the door of the fridge since this is where it will be warmest.<\/p>\n

If you follow these simple tips, your chocolate should be just fine over the summer.
