Well, instead of throwing them away, you should consider using them as mini planters. Now, you will not keep your plants in here permanently. You will only do so when you want to decorate your table for a special dinner or event. Succulents make the best plants for this project.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\">What you need:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Several wine corks<\/li>\n<li>Succulents (one for each wine cork)<\/li>\n<li>Drill with suitable size drill bit<\/li>\n<li>Cactus soil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"western\">Method:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The first thing you need to do is prepare each wine cork. Drill a hole all the way down the cork but take care not to go all the way through. It helps to measure the length of the cork against the drill bit. You can attach some masking tape or insulation tape to mark the maximum limit to where the drill should penetrate the cork.<\/li>\n<li>Shake out the cork and get all the pieces out.<\/li>\n<li>Add just a pinch of cactus soil and press it down just a little. You can use the drill bit (without the drill) to do this. Don&#8217;t compact the soil too much.<\/li>\n<li>Add the succulent and add some more soil if necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Water your plant just a little bit (a few drops) and display with pride!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Follow these steps with each wine cork and soon you will have a collection of mini planters. You can display them on your table and you can even let your guests take them home. Once you are dome entertaining, these clippings can be planted in another planter with cactus soil to grow and sprout more offshoots.
