This means that you should include at least one or two varieties of each type of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prestigehampers.co.uk\/cheese-hampers\">cheese<\/a>. Understanding the classifications of cheese will help make it that much easier to choose and cater to everyone&#8217;s preferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fresh \n<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Fresh cheese is curdled using lactic\nacid fermentation. This type of cheese-making does not require the\nuse of rennet. Some examples include ricotta, mascarpone, cream\ncheese and cottage cheese. They are excellent for desserts and for\nuse in various dishes. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Soft  \n<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This variety, as the name suggests, has\na softer texture with a 50% &#8211; 60% moisture content. They usually have\na soft rind and they are enjoyed with bread. They are not commonly\nadded to dishes or cooked because they lose a lot of their flavour\nwhen heated. Examples include Brie and Camembert. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hard and semi-hard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Usually pale yellow in colour, hard\ncheese is cooked and pressed. The curd is heated and the cheese is\npressed into the desired form to create the compact final product.\nExamples include Parmesan, Cheddar, Gouda and Monterey Jack. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Blue-veined<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Blue cheese is an acquired taste, some\nmight say, because it has a very strong flavour and smell. The\nblue-green veins are, in fact, mould which is injected into the\ncheese. Examples include Stilton, Gorgonzola, Bleu and Roquefort.\nThese cheeses should always be served separate from any other types\nbecause their strong aroma can affect the flavour of other foods. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Processed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In some cases, cheeses are made through\na process of remelting and the addition of milk, butter or cream.\nThey keep for a very long time and they contain many more additives.\nThis is why so many people prefer to avoid these types of cheese or,\nat least, enjoy them in moderation. Examples include cheese spreads\nand sliced cheese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you plan on serving a cheese plate,\nmake sure that you include one or two of each of these types of\ncheese for your guests.
