One creative and handy use for these decorative items is to make your own bowls. Depending on the size of the doily, you can make any size. You can also make different colours by choosing doilys in different colours.<br \/>\n<b>You will need:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Doily<\/li>\n<li>Bowl to use as a mold<\/li>\n<li>Plastic wrap<\/li>\n<li>White glue<\/li>\n<li>Bowl to hold the glue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Method:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Start by covering the exterior of your bowl (the one that will be used for a mold) with plastic wrap. This will prevent the doily from sticking to the bowl.<\/li>\n<li>You will need approximately \u00bc cup of glue for a medium-sized doily. Pour the glue in the other bowl and then soak the doily in the glue until completely saturated.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the soaked doily and lay it over the bowl. Spread it out over the plastic covered bowl and feel free to smooth or ruffle the edges.<\/li>\n<li>Let the doily stand until completely dry. The glue will dry clear and you will notice that it will be perfectly stiff.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the doily along with the plastic wrap before removing the plastic wrap too.<\/li>\n<li>Inspect your doily and make sure that it is completely dry before using as a gift basket. Fill with soaps, chocolates, or anything you like. You can also wrap with cellophane and tie a ribbon around the top.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Doilys can be used in many different ways.
