The perfect blend will include \u00bd to 1 cup of the acid (wine), \u00bc to \u00bd cup of the fat (oil), \u00bd to 2 teaspoons of herbs, and \u00bd to 2 teaspoons of spices (salt).<br \/>\nWhen choosing the type of wine you wish to use, you should consider the type of meat you are cooking as well as the type of wine you want to serve along with the meal. They need not be exactly the same but they should compliment one another.<br \/>\nExamples of acid include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>White wine<\/li>\n<li>Red wine<\/li>\n<li>Lemon Juice<\/li>\n<li>Vinegar<\/li>\n<li>Honey<\/li>\n<li>Agave<\/li>\n<li>Worcestershire Sauce<\/li>\n<li>Dijon Mustard<\/li>\n<li>Buttermilk<\/li>\n<li>Tomato Paste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Examples of fat include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Butter<\/li>\n<li>Olive Oil<\/li>\n<li>Grapeseed Oil<\/li>\n<li>Walnut Oil<\/li>\n<li>Flax Oil<\/li>\n<li>Peanut Oil<\/li>\n<li>Sesame Oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Examples of spices include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Salt<\/li>\n<li>Black, Red, or white pepper<\/li>\n<li>Cayenne pepper<\/li>\n<li>Cumin<\/li>\n<li>Paprika<\/li>\n<li>Chili powder<\/li>\n<li>Coriander<\/li>\n<li>Nutmeg<\/li>\n<li>Cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>Cloves<\/li>\n<li>Curry powder or paste<\/li>\n<li>Tandoori spice<\/li>\n<li>Onion powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Examples of herbs include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rosemary<\/li>\n<li>Garlic<\/li>\n<li>Thyme<\/li>\n<li>Onions<\/li>\n<li>Shallots<\/li>\n<li>Oregano<\/li>\n<li>Sage<\/li>\n<li>Parsley<\/li>\n<li>Ginger<\/li>\n<li>Bay leaves<\/li>\n<li>Wasabi<\/li>\n<li>Celery<\/li>\n<li>Carrots<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The most important thing about marinading any kind of meat is that you need to give it enough time. If possible, vacuum seal your marinading meat in the appropriate bags. When you vacuum seal them, you speed up the tenderizing process and you help all those flavours penetrate the meat that much faster. Don&#8217;t over fill the bags. You want to make sure that each piece of meat is completely surrounded by the marinade.
